How We Research
Measurement Data
We analyze sizing data across brands to understand how each bra runs — true to size, small, or large. This includes band stretch, cup depth, wire width, and projection. See our full cross-brand sizing methodology.
Shape Compatibility
Size is only half the equation. We evaluate how well each bra works for different breast shapes — projected, shallow, wide-set, close-set, full-on-top, full-on-bottom, and more.
User Ratings & Feedback
We aggregate user reviews from multiple retailers and communities to understand real-world fit, comfort, and durability. Patterns in feedback matter more than individual reviews.
Brand Reliability
We track each brand's consistency in quality, sizing accuracy, customer service reputation, and return policies. A great bra from an unreliable brand isn't a great recommendation.
The BraFinder Fit Score
When you use our fitter, every bra gets a Fit Score from 0 to 100. It is personalized to the size, shape, and preferences in your profile, and every point is explained, so the score is never a black box. It starts from the factor that decides more than any other whether a bra will work for you: does it come in your size?

Your size, translated into that brand. An exact match is a large boost, a sister size a smaller one, and a bra not offered in your size is penalized heavily.

Shape match
Deep cups and side support for bottom-full and projected shapes, fuller coverage for full-on-top, a plunge gore for close-set, and so on.

Support, style, life stage, and wire preference
Support level matched to what you want. Styles you like add points and styles you have avoided subtract. Nursing-friendly when you are nursing, fuller coverage post-surgery, and wire-free when you prefer it.
Every recommendation shows the reasons it scored well and any penalties, in plain language, like "Comes in your size, a 34E in Panache" or "Wire-free as you prefer." The Fit Score weighs how a bra fits you. It does not factor in whether we earn a commission. See our cross-brand sizing methodology for how the size step works.
How "best of" picks are chosen. The bras featured in our guides are editorially selected and shown as live catalog picks, refreshed for current price and availability, deduplicated by product family, and diversified across brands. That editorial selection is separate from the personalized Fit Score above.

Our recommendations are never for sale. While BraFinder earns revenue through affiliate partnerships, these relationships have absolutely no influence on our Fit Scores, rankings, or recommendations.
A bra with no affiliate link can and does outrank a bra with one. We will always recommend what we believe is the best fit for you, regardless of whether we earn a commission from that recommendation.
